The ANRT is hosting in Nancy an exceptional archive of Adrian Frutiger’s work, covering the period 1961-1975. Until now, these documents from the Atelier Frutiger (now Frutiger+Pfäffli) at the Villa Moderne in Arcueil have been unpublished. The aim of this project is to process the original prints and drawings, to classify and document them before sending them to the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich, where they will join the Frutiger collection. Amongst many fascinating documents, an important part of the archive consists of proofs and handwritten notes on the design of the Univers font family for IBM typewriters, which will be studied in depth.
